Mecserve was appointed to assist with the redevelopment (after initial demolition) of 7 & 8 St James’s Square and 7 Apple Tree Yard.
The project provides an office building with lower ground floor, ground floor, and five upper storeys totalling 63,185 ft² and fully screened roof plant and air conditioning.
The brief also included the refurbishment and alteration of 7 St James's Square, with the change-of-use of the fourth floor to residential use, and reinstatement of connections between the existing listed building (7 St James's Square) and the new building (8 St James's Square) at lower ground, ground, first, second and third floors.
The majority of the mechanical and electrical plant is located within the lower ground, basement areas with a minimal amount of the mechanical and electrical equipment located on the roof.
