16 Berkeley Street, Westminster

A new development within the heart of the City of Westminster with approximately 55,000 ft² of office accommodation. Mecserve was appointed by the client to provide a detailed (enhanced) performance specification for the building services.

The space was arranged over seven floors and due to the height of the building, the main core was designated for firefighting, complete with firefighting lift, lobbies and stand-by services including smoke ventilation. In addition to the air-conditioned offices, shell accommodation was provided at basement level for retail or restaurant use.

Upon completion, the architect and structural engineers were novated to the main contractor to complete the design work. Mecserve was retained by the joint venture clients as (building services) quality control advisor for the services, and the role included commenting on the design production, the main programme, the commissioning works and acceptance of the services at handover.

Mecserve took a proactive role throughout the design and construction stages to assist the main contractor and his team of designers and construction specialists.
