This development is part of a joint planning application with Cala Homes. Mecserve are providing the design of the building services, lifts and sustainability for the new Signature senior care home at Langley Park offering more than 65,000 ft² of accommodation over three levels.
The project design will utilise energy efficient measures including photovoltaic panels, CHP and VRV air source heat pumps, and the scheme is targeting a BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating.
The development comprises a registered care home for the frail elderly and comprises suites on ground to second floor inclusive. The residents' communal facilities include restaurant, lounges, Signature café, 'Village Hall', library, activity spaces, cinema, hair salon and spa bathing. Back-of-house areas include offices, plantroom, laundry, and kitchen.
The design of the building maximises independent living through the provision of private apartments, all incorporating features to ensure the ease and security of their residents.
