Mecserve assisted with the refurbishment of the existing office development (with retained front façade) plus internal structural frame and floors.
The height of the building dictated that a firefighting core was required, this being designed on a single stair core using the latest BRE "passive" smoke clearance technology.
The new services needed complete integration with the retained steel frame, meaning careful and precise coordination between the services and frame becoming a crucial consideration during the design stage.
The office building across 46,800 ft² was air conditioned with ceiling and under-floor mounted four-pipe fan-coil units serving a mixture of modular and perimeter linear diffusers.
The electrical services comprised main and sub mains distribution, emergency lighting, small power, emergency generator, wireways for specialist data and telecommunication services.
